Business Networking? Throughout Atlanta, there are a number of fee and no fee meetings every day. Either morning, lunch or early evening business people share leads and ideas for new business and discuss topics of interest to businesses in general.

Usually at the meetings members get an opportunity to give their 'elevator speech' (30 second or 1 minute presentation on who they are and what they do). In addition, they network with the other members before and after discussing ways in which they can help one another find new business opportunities.

Some things to keep in mind when preparing for a business network meeting:

  • Make cetain you practice your 'elevator speech' before the meeting. Time restrictions require moderators to keep them to a minimum and the most effective presentation is concise and to the point. Besides, time is a valuable asset and business people dislike seeing it wasted.
  • Make an effort to understand the other member's businesses. You can most effectively help them find new opportunities if you understand what they do. While prospecting and conducting your business, you will then be most likely to identify opportunities for others as they appear.
  • Try to attend meetings regularly. Increased attendance will help you get to know others and will help them get to know you better as well.

These are just a few ways you can contribute. Please remember, these meetings are only as good as the activity level of participation of the members. A group of passive members goes virtually nowhere at a very rapid rate. On the other hand, a group of active members can accomplish a substantial amount for the members in a very short period of time.

Below are some of the Business Networking Groups that can be found meeting in Town Center regularly.
